6-Week Painting Course

Ashleigh Anderson

Schedule & Current Topic: Dates, times, and course subject rotate per session, see the registration link for the current details.

Investment: $300 (materials not included) - Here is a link to my recommended materials list to help make sure you’re fully equipped with essential supplies for both our studio time and for practice at home

About the Course: This immersive six-week course is designed to deeply refine your painting skills from the ground up. The specific focus and meeting times rotate throughout the year. Depending on the session, we may spend six weeks diving deeply into traditional landscapes, exploring the nuances of still life, or mastering foundational concepts like creating light and depth.

Regardless of the subject matter, the core curriculum is always rooted in traditional realism and technical mastery. You will learn to build strong value underpaintings, mix efficiently from a limited palette, and apply paint effectively from dark to light. Expect a supportive, focused environment where you can truly elevate your craft.

Class Size: Limited to 15 students to ensure dedicated, individual guidance for every painter

Medium Focus: Oils or Acrylics. This course focuses on opaque layering, moving from dark to light. Because of this, transparent mediums won't align well with the techniques covered in this class.

Studio Mentorship Group

Ashleigh Anderson

Schedule: Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Price: $150 per calendar month

Mediums: This class is open to artists of any skill level who use opaque mediums(oil and acrylic). My painting process and style are more helpful to students working in those mediums.

This weekly mentorship group is a wonderful space to grow your skills, share inspiration, and enjoy a dedicated weekly morning of creativity. Bring whatever painting you are currently working on, whether it’s a landscape, an animal portrait, or a different subject entirely. If you're starting fresh or looking for inspiration, don't worry! I'll always have a selection of reference photos available for you to choose from. We begin each session with a short lecture focusing on a specific painting technique. We cover essential skills such as color mixing, value underpaintings, composition, simplifying complex subjects, and creating depth. After the morning lesson, you have the rest of the time to paint at your own pace. You'll receive personalized guidance and encouragement as you work through your piece.
